Hewlett Packard to create 700 jobs | Back |

Hewlett Packard (HP) is to create 700 jobs at its site in Erskine near Glasgow.
Government funding to the tune of £7 million will help it to set up an IT service hub at the plant in Renfrewshire.
The new jobs will make up for the 700 manufacturing posts axed last year when work was transferred to the Czech Republic.
According to BBC online, last year’s announcement of these job cuts prompted Scottish Development International and Scottish Enterprise to work closely with HP to attract new investment to the base.
As a result, the firm will receive up to £7m of Regional Selective Assistance support from Scottish Enterprise.
"HP has a strong heritage in Scotland and I am delighted to confirm our investment to develop the Erskine site as a hub for delivering industry-leading technology services," said HP’s head of strategy and integration Marc Waters.
