Sonos to open UK office
25 June 2007

In a bid to “grow and enhance” its UK business, American manufacturer Sonos has announced plans to open an office here later this year.

Leading the operation will be newly appointed UK country manager, Mike Edwards – the former managing director of Northern Europe for Archos UK.

The company has also just changed its introductory product bundle, bringing the retail price down by 20 per cent to £699, which it believes will lead to increased sales.

Sonos already has a strong presence in the UK, with several hundred dealers, but said it wants to expand the business, with particular focus on the independents.

Mr Edwards commented: “The independents are ideal for selling Sonos multi-room wireless music systems, as they offer the best service in terms of demonstration and product knowledge, which is key for this product.”

He added that a large part of his role will also include enhancing the quality of existing business, by helping retailers set up the best possible selling environment.

“We are not about just putting a product on a shelf and walking away, we want to work in complete partnership with all our dealers,” he said.
